OsloMet's Publication Fund
OsloMet’s publication fund provides faculty funding for publishing in fully Open Access (Gold OA) publications. Gold Open Access refers to publications that are free and openly accessible online. Applications for funding are reviewed on a rolling basis.
See also OsloMet's Publish-and-Read agreements with the leading academic publishers. The majority of these agreements cover OA publishing in subscription (hybrid) journals, however, for some publishers gold journal titles (fully Open Access) are included.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Open Access Funding.
-
Publishing in Open Access Journals
To qualify for funding, the following conditions must be met:
- The publication must be a Gold Open Access journal and indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals (doaj.org).*
- The journal must be classified at either Level 1 or 2 in the Norwegian Register For Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers (kanalregister.hkdir.no).
- The corresponding author must be affiliated with OsloMet, and OsloMet must be credited in the article.
Please apply at the earliest stage in the publishing process, for a more efficient processing time. If the article is submitted to another journal after funding has been granted, a new application must be submitted. The original application must also be withdrawn by sending an email to ub.forskningsstotte@oslomet.no. This is because the funds are granted to the individual journal, based on the applicable terms.
Please note that costs such as page fees, fees for tables/illustrations, colours, text editing and the like will not be covered by the Publication Fund.
*An exception to this requirement is granted if the journal was covered by a publishing agreement at the time of submission, and the journal subsequently converted from hybrid to fully open access. A DOAJ entry is then granted a grace period of one calendar year from the date of conversion.
