Open Access Publish and Read Agreements

• The amount that is covered varies from agreement to agreement. Some agreements provide discounts on publishing charges (APCs), while others provide APC coverage in full.
  Funding is only provided if the article is accepted during the contractual period. Please be advised that the agreement with Taylor & Francis is restricted by a yearly article quota. 
  The terms and title lists are listed under each publisher below. If a publisher is not listed, there is no active agreement in place.
• Some publishers choose to exclude certain journals from their publishing agreements. This may explain why a specific journal is missing from the title lists listed below. Information about excluded titles (Norwegian page, openscience.no).
• The corresponding author must be affiliated with OsloMet to receive funding. Please list your OsloMet email when submitting the article, as authentication is based on email domain.
• Additional costs for page fees, tables and illustrations, colors, copy editing etc. are not covered by the agreements.
• The option for APC funding via an active agreement is done in the publisher's submission portal when choosing Open Access. This action triggers an automatic message to the University Library at OsloMet, with a message to approve or decline the application for funding. The applications are reviewed on a rolling basis by the University Library.
• Articles published with a CC license ensures that the author retains the copyright. OsloMet, Plan S and The Research Council of Norway all recommend the use of the license CC BY.

The agreement provides unlimited Open Access publishing in the majority of ACM’s journals and Conference Proceedings, as well as free reading access to ACM Digital Library.

Journals that are not published by ACM (such as IEEE) are not included in the publishing agreement. However, reading access is granted for these titles as well.

Authors are asked to provide their OsloMet affiliated email, as authentication is based on email domain.

• Title List 2022 – For OA publishing (acm.org). The list is regularly updated by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
• ACM Full-Text Collection: Extensive list that includes titles with reading access (openscience.no). The list is regularly updated by ACM.
• Workflow for authors: Example of the ACM Open Access Reporting Dashboard in the 2. paragraph (openscience.no).
• Licenses: Articles are to be published with a CC-license. ACM offers the license CC BY, which is the option recommended by OsloMet, Plan S and The Research Council of Norway. About the licenses (creativecommons.org).
• Contract period: 2022–2024.

The agreement allows for unlimited article publishing (accepted within the contract period) in the publisher’s hybrid and gold journals. The terms include read access to the Cambridge University Press Full Collection.

• Title list 2023 (Excel, view.officeapps.live.com). The values in column B refer to the publishing options for the individual journal. Titles with the corresponding value "par" are included in the publishing agreement. Journals listed as “read_only” are not covered by the agreement.
• Workflow for authors that would like to publish OA in a Cambridge-journal (PowerPoint, openscience.no).
• Licenses: Articles are published with a CC-license, and publishing in a Cambridge journal you may choose to use the following CC-licenses CC BY, CC BY-NC-ND, CC-BY-NC-ND and CC-BY-NC-SA. • Contract period: 2023–2024.

The agreement provides unlimited Open Access publishing in Elsevier’s hybrid journals. A 15 % discount is provided for publishing in gold (fully Open Access) journals. See the title list below for more information about the Open Access status for the individual journals.

For further APC funding in Elsevier’s gold journals, faculty are referred to OsloMet's Publication Fund.

By extension, the agreement provides read access to journals in the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection.

For journals listed as “hybrid”, the APC is covered by the agreement. For journals listed as «gold», faculty may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.

• Articles are published with a CC license, with the option to choose either CC BY or CC BY-NC-ND. Information about the licensing options (elsevier.com). OsloMet, Plan S and The Research Council of Norway all recommend the use of the license CC BY. About the licenses (creativecommons.org).
• Contract period: 2022–2024.

The agreement with Emerald provides faculty a 10 % discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs). The Author Accepted Manuscript can be deposited to OsloMet’s Institutional repository (oda.oslomet.no) and made public as of the official publication date.

• Contract period: 2023–2025.

The agreement provides a 10 % discount on Article Processing Charges (APCs). As Frontiers’ journals are all published fully Open Access, faculty may apply for further funding from the OsloMet's Publication Fund.

By extension, the agreement provides students and faculty read access to Oxford’s journals.

Titles with the corresponding value "par" or "publish_only" are included in the publishing agreement. Journals listed as “read_only” or “closed” are not covered by the agreement. For publishing in Gold OA journals, faculty may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.

• Licenses: Articles are published with a CC license. OsloMet, Plan S and The Research Council of Norway all recommend the use of the license CC BY. About the licenses (creativecommons.org).
• Contract period: 2023–2024.

The agreement provides Open Access publishing in a majority of the publisher’s hybrid journals. A 20 % discount is provided for publishing in Gold (fully Open Access) journals.

Faculty may apply for additional funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund, for publishing in Gold journals. 

The agreement provides students and faculty read access to most Sage journals.

Titles with the corresponding value "par" are included in the publishing agreement. Journals listed as “read_only” are not covered by the agreement. Column G provides information about the journal’s Open Access model, which is either hybrid or gold. 
  For journals listed as “hybrid”, the APC is covered by the agreement. For journals listed as «gold», faculty may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.

• Licenses: Most articles are published with a CC BY license, which is the license recommended by OsloMet, Plan S and The Research Council of Norway. However, some journals require a more restrictive type of license. About the licenses (creativecommons.org).

• Contract period: 2023.

The agreement provides Open Access publishing in SpringerNature’s hybrid journals. As of 2023, the previous yearly article quota was replaced with unlimited publishing during the contractual period.

For publishing in Springer’s gold OA journals, faculty members may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.

• Title list for 2023 (Excel). Journals listed as "Hybrid" in column F are included in the agreement. For journals listed as "Fully OA", faculty may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.

For journals listed as “Gold”, faculty may apply for funding from OsloMet's Publication Fund.
