Kjernen - New Solution for Employee Data

OsloMet is in the process of implementing a new solution for HR-related processes and employee data. The system is called "Kjernen" (The Core).

The system has been developed to provide both employees and managers with better support in their daily work by replacing several manual and fragmented processes with automated processes and improved data access.

All employees at OsloMet will eventually receive a user account in the system. As of October, all faculties and departments have been connected with certain units. It is planned that the entire OsloMet will be connected to the system by the end of 2025.

What does this mean for you as an employee?

Kjernen provides you with a new way to view and manage information about yourself. You will have an overview of documents related to your employment, such as employment contracts and home office agreements. All documents created in Kjernen, such as employment agreements, home office agreements, and responses to leave requests, will be stored under the "Documents" section in the system, making them easily accessible to you.

What does this mean for you as a manager?

As a manager, you will receive a new work tool that will serve as the foundation for many HR processes. In Kjernen, you will find information about your employees. It is here that you will handle various administrative processes, such as onboarding for new employees. You will also have access to reports and statistics in Kjernen.

What tasks must still be done in the DFØ app/SAP portal?

Although much will be managed in Kjernen, there are still some tasks that must be handled in the DFØ app/SAP portal:

Registration of working hours (for technical-administrative employees)
• Application for absence
• Application for leave
• Termination
• Registration of children (quotas must be created in the SAP portal)

When will you gain access to Kjernen?

You will receive an email when you and your unit are connected to Kjernen. The email will contain necessary information and a link for logging in.
