Open Access Publish and Read Agreements

Open Access Publish and Read Agreements

OsloMet has entered into agreements with a number of publishers that will cover Author Publishing Charges (APC).

Unit has on behalf of Norwegian Higher Education institutions made agreements with these publishers: Cambridge, Elsevier, Emerald, MDPI, Oxford University Press, Sage, SpringerNature, Taylor & Francis and Wiley. Information about the agreements (openscience.no). Find information about the agreements below.

OsloMet will only cover the cost when the corresponding author is affiliated with OsloMet. The corresponding authors should use their email address linked to OsloMet in order not to create uncertainty about affiliation. The corresponding author is the senior author responsible for submitting the article. The choice to publish OA is made as part of the submission process in the publisher’s author submission portal. The articles are published with a CC-license which makes it possible for the author to retain the copyright. OsloMet, Plan S and Forskningsrådet recommend the license CC BY.

  • About the agreements

Some agreements provide discounts on publication costs (APC - Article Processing Charges), while other agreements cover APC in full. If the publisher is not mentioned, there is no agreement.

Where the agreement covers the APC, the academic employees affiliated with the participating institutions will be able to publish their research articles Open Access (OA) in the publisher’s journals. The APC will be covered by OsloMet as part of these agreements and will not entail cost for the researcher / research groups. The agreements simplify the process of publishing Open Access for authors.

As part of the agreement’s students and employees at participating institutions will have access to read articles made available in the publisher’s academic journals.

Articles submitted in the publisher’s author submission portal will be approved by the University Library.

Also included, is free reading access to journals in the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection.
