Panopto - OsloMets video platform
As an employee at OsloMet you automatically have access to Panopto via the above link. In addition, Panopto is fully integrated with Canvas. This makes it easy for you as an educator to publish educational videos to your students.
The service also support automatic transcription of videos based on speech recognition software, which makes it easier for you to meet national requirements for universal design and closed captions in educational videos.
Mediasite migration
The Mediasite service was switched off at OsloMet on January 1st 2023. All Mediasite-videos were transferred to Panopto and and all Mediasite-links now automatically forwards the user to the corresponding video in Panopto. In other words, you don't need to do anything for your old Mediasite-videos to continue working in Canvas. If you wish to unpublish or delete videos that you'd published in Mediasite, you can now find them in Panopto by hitting the Browse button, then open the folder named Overført fra Mediasite > Brukermapper.
Note! It's no problem to move Mediasite-videos around in Panopto without the connection to the Mediasite-link being broken. But if you delete the video, the connection will break.

Important information regarding video recordings, privacy and storage
Lecture recordings and data classification
If you make a recording of a meeting or a lecture, you're in practice handling personal information and data. In this regard you need to be aware which classification the data you are recording has. See storage guide for more information. You need to be certain that you are allowed to make the recording and that all participants has been notified in advance. Deletion of videos
Hvis du sletter noe du har lastet opp eller produsert i Panopto, blir det flyttet til papirkurven først. Hvis du ønsker å slette en video permanent, må du tømme papirkurven etter at du har slettet den. Hvis du sletter noe ved en feiltakelse kan du gjenopprette videoen fra papirkurven. Panopto-app til mobiltelefon
Det finnes en Panopto mobil-app som det er mulig å installere på smart-telefon. Appen gir deg tilgang til alt av video-innhold du har tilgang til i Panopto, samt muligheten til å gjøre opptak direkte til Panopto via din mobiltelefon. Hvis du velger å benytte denne appen, bør du av sikkerhetshensyn sørge for å ha låseskjerm/passord på din mobiltelefon, for å sikre at uvedkomne ikke får tilgang til dataene du har lagret inne i Panopto.
