Kjeller and Sandvika campuses closed

OsloMet's campuses at Sandvika and Kjeller are still closed. OsloMet is working with SiO, the welfare organisation for students in Oslo, to establish corona testing at Kjeller so that campus Kjeller can be opened.

Updated 15 April at 4 pm:

The Government has decided that libraries and study areas at campus Kjeller can be opened to students, provided that the students are tested regularly for the coronavirus.

Kjeller will also open for students who are dependent on experiments or skill training that cannot be completed digitally, and where it is necessary to maintain study progression. These students must also be tested for the coronavirus regularly.

OsloMet is working together with SiO to put such testing in place. Campus Kjeller will open as soon as this is done. Until then, campus Kjeller is closed.

More information for students and employees at Kjeller to come.

Updated 16 March at 5 pm:

Monday night the Government introduced infection measure level A for all the municipalities in Viken county. This means that our campuses at Sandvika and Kjeller is completely closed to employees and students from Wednesday 17 March.

The buildings, libraries and study areas are all closed, and all instruction planned on the campuses will be done digitally or postponed.

Students affected by this will be notified by their study program.

The IT service desk can be reached by phone or e-mail. The IT service desk office is closed at both Kjeller and Pilestredet until further notice.

Employees at both campuses must work from home, except for those who have business-critical operational functions.

Still open study areas and libraries at Pilestredet campus

Libraries, study areas and the rest of the Pilestredet premises is open until further notice, in accordance with the current regulations in Oslo municipality.

You must use card and code to enter the buildings.

All students and employees who are at Pilestredet campus must follow the University’s infection prevention routines.

Intensified infection control measures

As a result of the British coronavirus mutation, the infection control measures at OsloMet has been tightened.

These are the changes to the current guidelines:

  • All students and employees who are on campus must wear a face mask while moving around on the premises and when a two-meter distance can not be maintained.
  • Everyone is strongly encouraged to download the NIPH (FHI) infection control app.
