Student support services at OsloMet

Get an overview of the various support services available for students at OsloMet. We offer counseling, guidance on cheating and complaints, career counseling, and facilitation of study life, among others.

The Ombudsperson

The Ombudsperson (student.oslomet.no) can provide advice and give assistance in matters concerning the study situation. For example, if you have questions about admission, examination, practice, complaints, psychosocial environment, cases of cheating or suitability issues.

The ombudsperson is independent and confidential.

The Student Chaplain

The Student Chaplain (student.oslomet.no) offers support to all students regardless of background, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religious belief.

The Student Chaplain provides one-on-one counseling, grief support groups, and assistance in case of student deaths.

The Student Chaplain maintains confidentiality.

The Humanist Chaplain

The Humanist Chaplain (student.oslomet.no) is located at Blindern and provides counseling services for students. The counseling service is free.

Prayer- og and quiet rooms

We have rooms for prayer, silence, rest, and breastfeeding.

Career Services

Unsure how to participate in group collaborations, need help with job searches, or seeking career guidance? Career Services offers career guidance (student.oslomet.no).

The University Library

Unsure about literature search, referencing style, or source criticism? The University Library offers courses and guidance in APA, Zotero, EndNote, among others. If you need help with the writing process, you can get assistance from the Study Workshop at the University Library (student.oslomet.no).

Services for students with special needs

Services for students with special needs (student.oslomet.no) is available for students with special needs, elite athletes or disabilities or if you need special arrangements in connection with an examination because of a medical condition or other documented reasons.

Student Parliament

As a student, you can influence decisions affecting your study life. The student democracy allows you to engage at various levels.

Student Parliament (studentparlamentet.no) works to safeguard, promote, and improve students' social, academic, and financial situations.

Support Services at SiO

SiO (sio.no) offers everything from self-help courses to courses in cognitive tools and an anonymous question platform.

Psychologist (student.oslomet.no) is available at Pilestredet and offers both physical and digital consultations.

Public health nurse (student.oslomet.no) is available to all students. You can talk to the public health nurse about anything from body issues, contraception, relationship problems to sexually transmitted infections.

Counselor (student.oslomet.no) is available at Kjeller every Monday, offering both physical and digital guidance at Office 132 (next to Akademika). It's a low threshold service with short waiting times.
