Safety Month 2025

The October Safety Month is here. Together, we’re making a joint effort to increase engagement, awareness, and knowledge about how we can all contribute to ensuring safety at OsloMet.

As in previous years, OsloMet is hosting activities to boost our collective awareness and knowledge about safety. This involves both preventing incidents and knowing what to do if something does happen.

Throughout October, you can attend lectures, read articles on the employee website about various safety-related topics, and participate in e-learning sessions with tips on what each of us should be mindful of. There will also be several stands for students throughout the month.

The Importance of Knowledge for Everyone

Safety work is multifaceted and involves securing OsloMet’s values, which include life and health, information and information systems, materials, and physical objects.

“We're working systematically and effectively with safety at OsloMet. It’s essential that we all understand the different risk factors so we can make safe decisions in our workday. I encourage all employees to complete the e-learning sessions during October and familiarize themselves with the information on sikresiden.no. This platform is an important tool for increasing safety awareness,” says OsloMet’s Chief Security Officer, Stian Rabe.

E-Learning Emails in October

Throughout October, all employees will receive emails from course@nanolearning.com with safe links to e-learning modules developed by sikresiden.no. These modules cover various topics, ranging from protection against cyberattacks to responsible international collaboration.

“By completing these e-learning modules, we can enhance engagement and knowledge about how we can all contribute to safety at OsloMet and what to do if unexpected incidents occur,” Rabe explains.

OsloMet’s safety and emergency preparedness policy (in Norwegian) also clearly highlights the importance of training and awareness in ensuring effective safety measures.
