Security Month 2024
The Security Month of October is here. Together, we make a concerted effort to increase our engagement, awareness, and knowledge about how we can all contribute to good security at OsloMet.
The national security month (webpage i Norwegian - norsis.no) in October is here, and this year too, OsloMet is conducting activities to lift our collective awareness and knowledge about security. The work with security is complex and involves how we secure OsloMet's values, which we define as life and health, information and information systems, materials, and objects.
Throughout October, you will be able to read articles on the employee websites presenting various topics within the security field, with tips on what each of us should be aware of.
– It's important that we all have knowledge about different risk factors to be able to make safe choices in the workday, says Rector Christen Krogh.
– It's about both preventing things from going wrong and knowing what we can do and where to report if something still happens, says the Rector.
E-learning
All employees will receive an email from course@nanolearning.com throughout October with a safe link to e-learning courses developed by sikresiden.no. The e-learning courses cover several different topics, from protection against data attacks to responsible international cooperation.
By completing the e-learning courses, we increase the engagement and knowledge about how we can all contribute to good security at OsloMet, and what to do if unwanted incidents occur.
Framework for security work
Over the past year, the work with security has been bolstered at OsloMet. The security organization has been strengthened with several employees, under the leadership of Director Vigdis By Kampenes, Division for Organization and Infrastructure.
– We work well with security at the university and have put in place good frameworks with goals and strategies for the work with security and preparedness, explains By Kampenes.
Read the governance document for security and preparedness at OsloMet (in Norwegian).
The governance document also clearly states that training and awareness are important for good security.
– I urge all employees to follow the e-learning courses throughout October and familiarize themselves with the information on sikresiden.no, which is an important tool we have for increased knowledge about security, says By Kampenes.
