Security when travelling abroad

Before booking a trip, it must be approved by a leader. For trips to Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea, a security conversation between the leader and the employee, with assistance from the Chief Security officer, must be carried out before the trip.

You must also ensure necessary preparations with regard to insurance, vaccination, and travel documents.

For both work and private trips, it is recommended to download the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' app Reiseklar (regjeringen.no) and register the trip in it (the text is in norwegian).

Agreement with a Travel Agency

OsloMet has travel policy for work trips and a framework agreement with the travel agency Berg-Hansen.

We remind you that all work trips should be booked via Berg-Hansen. This is to ensure that trips are carried out in a climate- and environmentally friendly, safe, and cost-effective way for OsloMet as a whole, in accordance with the Government's travel agreement - the text is in norwegian (dfo.no).

By booking through the travel agency, the employer knows where the employee is in case something happens at the place they are. The travel agency also assists with rebooking and/or refund of refundable fees when the trip is booked through them.
