
Results of Local Wage Negotiations
The results from the Akademiker-Unio settlement are clear. For the LO-YS agreement, the deadline has been extended to March 1.
In recent weeks, the employer and the unions at OsloMet have conducted local wage negotiations.
The delays - following mediation, strike, and with compulsory wage arbitration in The central wage settlement in the State in 2024 - have had a ripple effect, and therefore the local negotiations were only conducted now.
National Wage Arbitration Tribunal has decided that there are still four collective agreements (two identical pairs); one for Akademikerne and Unio, and one for LO Stat and YS Stat. Non-unionized employees follow the largest agreement area, which at OsloMet is the Akademikerne and Unio agreement.
Akademikerne-Unio Agreement
The results from the Akademiker-Unio settlement are clear. The agreement covers 2122 employees. The entire pool for this settlement has been negotiated locally.
The pool amounts to 2.7 percent of the salary mass in the agreement area as of May 1, 2024, which is 39,648,030 NOK.
General Salary Increase
All employees covered by the Akademiker-Unio agreement will receive a general wage increase of 1.7 percent. The increase is not given to employees who have left during 2024 and have not re-entered, or to employees in part-time positions (secondary positions). The total general wage increase accounts for 55.5 percent of the total pool for this agreement area.
Individual Wage Increases
Individual wage increases have also been negotiated for 595 employees. This accounts for 44.5 percent of the pool for this agreement area.
The wage settlement for the Akademikerne-Unio area will be paid in two installments. The general increase will be paid in March, and the individual increases in April. The available funds for the settlement for LO and YS members are 2.9 percent (25 percent for central increases and 75 percent for local negotiations). The agreement covers 642 employees. The effective date for the settlement is May 1, 2024.
The Central Increase Has Been Paid
The central increase of 0.75 percent on the annual wage was paid with the February salary (including back pay from May 1).
Local Salary Negotiations Are Ongoing
The employer has applied for and been granted an extended deadline until March 1. Therefore, the negotiations are still ongoing. 2.15 percent of the wage mass is allocated for local negotiations, and the local pool amounts to 9,420,173 NOK.
The results of the negotiations will be announced as soon as the protocol is signed by the parties.
