New AI tool available
OsloMet now also offers AI chat through Microsoft Copilot. Our existing AI tool, Sikt KI-chat, has also been updated.
Both tools give you access to artificial intelligence (AI) designed to help you find information, answer questions, and assist you in teaching, research, and administrative work. Both Microsoft Copilot and Sikt KI-chat now use Open AI’s latest version - GPT-4 Turbo. Unlike Sikt KI-chat, Copilot can also generate images (Dall-e).

What is the difference between Copilot and Sikt KI-chat?

Copilot typically provides more and better data for sources.

Sikt AI-chat has a greater capacity to respond to longer texts.

Sikt AI-chat may be experienced as somewhat slower than Copilot (Sikt is working on the issue).

The solutions are set up with different limitations and are updated differently - therefore, they may generate different responses.

Security and privacy
Both Copilot and Sikt KI-chat have been assessed and approved by OsloMet for use up to and including the limited (yellow) storage level.
When you log in with your OsloMet email on Microsoft Copilot, your data is not used to train the model, and your data is secure. In Copilot, you’ll see OsloMet’s logo at the top left, and you’ll also receive a badge indicating that you are “Protected” at the top right.
Need for other AI tools?
Remember that IT should be involved if you need to use alternative AI tools. The individual academic environments assess which system(s) are relevant, while IT provides advice and evaluates matters related to agreements, information security, and privacy.
