NorPal holds workshop and announces network funding
NorPal has begun mobilising and coordinating academic resources in Norway in support of higher education and research in Palestina.
OsloMet is one of the initiators of the Norwegian Consortium for Higher Education in Palestine – NorPal, which is a cooperation between 20 Norwegian universities and higher education institutions, as well as the National Union of Students in Norway.
The pro-rector for research and development at OsloMet, Tanja Storsul, is part of NorPal’s working committee.
“I am very pleased that we are now underway with the work in NorPal. Many of us want to contribute to the reconstruction of higher education and research in Palestine. Through NorPal we can join forces. I hope many will engage in these initiatives,” says Storsul.
Workshop 26 February
On 26 February, NorPal will hold a workshop at OsloMet with the aim of establishing good information-sharing across Norwegian academic communities regarding ongoing or planned collaboration with, and initiatives directed towards, Palestinian higher education.
The workshop will also help Norwegian academic communities to come together around applications for NorPal’s network funding. The registration deadline is 6 February.
Announcement of network funding
NorPal invites Norwegian academic communities across all disciplines to apply for network funding for work that will contribute to the reconstruction of Palestinian higher education and research.
The network funds being announced will support the establishment of national working groups involving academic communities from several institutions. The application deadline is 26 March.
