Wednesday 14 June at At 12 noon, the national Emergency Alert System will be tested. All cell phones that are turned on will make a loud noise.

We recommend that everyone who has planned activities during the period the test is in progress to be prepared.

During the test, all mobile phones that are switched on will vibrate and beep loudly for 10 seconds. This also happens if the phone is on silent, muted notification or low volume. Some tablets and smartwatches can also display emergency alerts.

In order not to receive the notification, the phone must be in airplane mode or completely turned off.

The Norwegian Civil Defence will simultaneously test the physical warning sirens with the signal «Important message – seek information».
