Tuition fees for international students

From autumn 2023, new students from countries outside the EEA and Switzerland must pay to study in Norway. The tuition fees for OsloMet's international masters have now been set.

After the government decided to introduce tuition fees for international students, universities have worked to map the consequences and prepare for the new scheme. For OsloMet, the change affects admission to seven international master's programmes.

Previously, rector Christen Krogh has decided that OsloMet, like most higher education institutions, will admit international students to these master's programs in the academic year 2023/24. Rector has now decided the tuition fees for OsloMet's international master's programmes.

These are the new tuition fees

  • Public Health Nutrition – Master's in Health Sciences (HV), NOK 185,400
  • International Development, Education and Sustainabilities (LUI), NOK 185,400
  • International Social Welfare and Health Policy (SAM), NOK 185,400
  • Product Design – Design in Complexity (TKD), NOK 373,550
  • Civil Engineering (TKD), NOK 254,950
  • Applied Computer and Information Technology (TKD), NOK 254,950
  • Smart Mobility and Urban Analytics (TKD), NOK 254,950

The decision initially applies to the academic year 2023/24 and will be taken up for a new assessment in the autumn of 2023. The fees are based on the Ministry of Education's funding categories with an administrative surcharge of NOK 10,000 per student. This is in line with the recommendations from two working groups that have jointly investigated the matter for the university sector.

Income from tuition fees will be distributed according to OsloMet's budget distribution model.

The applicants affected by the change will be informed as soon as possible.
