New strategy – the work will continue in the autumn

This spring it has been several rounds of input related to the new strategy for OsloMet. The first draft of the strategy is ready, and the work will continue throughout the autumn.

The feedback from the OsloMet Board on the first draft of the strategy, which will apply from 2024, was good at the Board meeting in June.

OsloMet's management received input on, among other things, working further with the content relating to the description of our own organisation.

In the work on the new strategy, which started in the autumn of 2022, the focus has been on identifying what we want with a strategy for OsloMet, how OsloMet will deal with challenges that will come in the coming years and obligations related to the challenges.

There have been management meetings, board seminar, strategy workshop, strategy square, input rounds and open strategy meetings for all students and employees where the organisation has been involved.

The first draft of the strategy has been discussed in the university's management meeting, the Student Parliament and IDF (information, consultation and negotiation).

You will find the first draft of the new strategy under case 20/2023 for the OsloMet Board meeting on 15 June (opengov.com). The website is in Norwegian.

Draft phase until September

The work on the strategy is now in the "draft phase" until September. In the autumn, a hearing process will be held at OsloMet on the new strategy.

Vice rector Per Martin Norheim-Martinsen has led the process of working on a new strategy at OsloMet since autumn 2022. On 1 August, he will start a new job at NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences, as dean of the Faculty of Landscape and Society.

- I would like to thank for all the good cooperation around the new strategy and all input from the organisation. The new strategy will guide the development of the entire organisation in the years ahead. I wish all the best with the further work, says Norheim-Martinsen.

Rectors proposal for new strategy will be presented to the new OsloMet Board during the autumn. There will also be a plan for the implementation of the strategy and the continuous strategy work going forward.
