Medical filters installed

The showers in Pilestredet 50 and 52 can be used again after medical filters have been fitted as a result of legionella findings.

On 29 October, OsloMet was notified by KLP, which owns the buildings OsloMet disposes of in Pilestredet, that moderate amounts of legionella bacteria had been found in the water in the pipes supplying Pilestredet 50, Pilestredet 52 and in Fyrhuset.

The showers and hand sprayers in SiO's kitchens in these buildings have had medical filters installed, and can be used again after being closed for a few days as a result of the discovery.

Some showers in Pilestredet 50 and 52, which are rarely used, are still closed until further notice, to prevent water from remaining in the pipes.

Regular tests ahead

Going forward, routine tests will be carried out of the water in all buildings on OsloMet's campus in Pilestredet and at Kjeller.

If you have questions about the measures at OsloMet, contact the property department by e-mail.
