Language training for employees

Do you wish to improve your language skills? The unit for academic language practice has several language offers for OsloMet employees.

Norwegian language course for employees and spouses/partners

We offer these Norwegian language courses in Autumn 2018:

  • A1 level, beginners' course (starts week 35) (The class is now fully booked for the Autumn semester)

  • A2 level, beginners' + course (starts week 37) (The class is now fully booked for the Autumn semester)

  • B1 level, intermediate course (starts week 35)
  • B2 level, advanced course (starts week 34)
  • A1-A2 level course for spouses/partners (starts in week 35. Requires a minimum number of signups.) (The class is now fully booked for the Autumn semester)

The courses aim at developing your Norwegian language and culture skills, and is free of charge for all OsloMet employees. 

The registration for the Autumn semester is now closed. Registration for the Spring semester will open in week 47 (November 19th-25th).

Language café

Practice Norwegian and other languages – attend the language café!

The café is open once a month from 15:30-17:30. There will be  a short topic presentation with different themes each time. Find additional information by clicking the dates below.

Topics Autumn 2018

Coffee, tea and snacks will be served.

At the language café you may meet colleagues who either speak, or wants to learn, languages such as: Amharic, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Persian, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Tibetan, Urdu, Vietnamese and ”älvdalsk”.

Language dating

Practice language with a colleague! Register here and we will help you find a language partner. (This depends on whether there are otherswith coherent language interest).

Meetings with a language parter provides intensive language practice by allowing for alternatively practicing each partner's mother tongue. It is up to each pair to decide how they will conduct their meetings, You may for instance have lunch together, go to a language cafe or maybe take a trip to the Vigeland Park.
