International recruitment and on-boarding of international staff

template.back.to.overview International recruitment and on-boarding of international staff

Research is global and OsloMet is increasingly accepting applicants and guest researchers from all over the world. To ensure a good recruitment process and a good start-up, routines and templates for international recruitment have been created and a separate reception office has been established to assist with all the practical aspects of starting up in Norway and OsloMet.

OsloMet has a separate reception office for receiving new employees and visiting researchers with an international background called the OsloMet International Staff Office, abbreviated to the OMISS office. We work with the faculty and center to ensure that the start-up to Norway and OsloMet goes as smoothly as possible in relation to immigration, housing search, arrangements for partners and children, and inclusion in Norwegian working life and culture. Feel free to visit us at Pilestredet 46, room 433. We have drop-in days on Tuesday and Wednesday, or send us an e-mail at omiss@oslomet.no. Read more about the OMISS office.

On OsloMet's external Work for us pages (oslomet.no) you will find relevant information that international employees and researchers need to plan a move to Norway and start their work at OsloMet.

OsloMet is EU certified for Charter & Code (euraxess.no) with rights to use the logo for HR Excellence in Research - HRS4R (euraxess.ec.europa.eu) with a separate action plan for how we work with researcher mobility and facilitating researcher careers. OsloMet has a number of international affiliations where the Charter & Code (oslomet.no) is an important certification for our researchers to be able to apply for external EU funds. Via the Research Council, we are associated with Euraxess (euraxess.no), the network where you can also find a lot of good information about moving to Norway to work/research.
