Simula Garage @ OsloMet

Simula Garage @ OsloMet

Do you have a great idea? Are you eager to implement it and build a business around it? Do you want to keep the legal rights to your idea? The Simula Garage@OsloMet is a free place to work on your innovative ideas for 12 months.

The goal of the Garage@OsloMet is to provide an inspirational and supportive community for entrepreneurs who aim to turn ideas into successful businesses. The Garage is open to all students, alumni and employees at OsloMet.

The Garage is a competence center for start-ups developed by employees, alumni and students. Whether to discuss ideas with your co-founders, conduct research, or develop your business, the Garage is a place for you to get work done.

What does the Garage offer?

A place to work

The Garage is an initiative from Simula Research Laboratory in collaboration with OsloMet to give ambitious entrepreneurs the opportunity to work in a free office space alongside other inspirational innovators. As a member of the Garage@OsloMet you will have a place to develop your idea from scratch and into a viable business.

Funding

Start-ups need funding to develop their ideas and products in order to grow and prosper. Investors who are willing to take risks and invest in the early-stage of projects are essential for success. Start-ups also need partners who take an active role in supporting and guiding them. Whether you need private capital or public funding, the Garage can help you achieve it.

Mentoring

One of the many challenges a startup faces is how to develop its brand and key message in a clear and convincing way. The Garage has the resources to mentor you on specific questions related to legal issues, intellectual property rights, business development, writing applications for funding, and pitching your company to investors.

Community

A free co-working space may sound alluring to most freshly minted start-ups, but the Garage offers much more than free workspace. The Garage is more of a technical competence centre than a traditional startup hub in which you can draw on the knowledge and experience of the community.
