Erasmus+ Mobility Grant for Teaching Purposes

Erasmus+ Mobility Grant for Teaching Purposes

The Erasmus+ staff mobility grant for teaching purposes gives you as an employee at OsloMet the opportunity to teach at one of OsloMet's Erasmus+ partner institutions in Europe.
  • How can you use the grant?

The teaching grant can be used to teach at one of OsloMet's Erasmus+ partner institutions in Europe.

We have gathered good examples of how others have used the Erasmus+ staff grant for teaching - read and be inspired!

    Where can you go?

The institution you travel to must have a valid Erasmus+ exchange agreement with OsloMet. OsloMet has partner institutions in most of the countries participating in Erasmus+, that is, the 27 EU countries, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

Use the list of international partner institutions that OsloMet can send students on exchange to, to find European institutions that we have Erasmus+ agreements with.

You can no longer travel to England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

  • Application, application criteria and deadlines

You must have a clear plan for your stay and which Erasmus+ partner institution you will be traveling to.

Your plan and the timing of your stay must be agreed upon with your immediate manager.

You must have an active employment relationship at OsloMet (permanent or temporary), you cannot have retired or be employed under retirement conditions.

The stay should last a minimum of 4 days, of which at least 2 days must be days with academic content, and a maximum of 60 days.

The stay must include at least 8 hours of teaching/guidance per week, regardless of duration.

If you have received an Erasmus+ staff grant previously, and you have completed the stay you received support for, you must have submitted all necessary documentation before applying for new support.

    Application form and deadlines

    • Deadline is January 15th for stays in the spring semester
    • Deadline is May 15th for stays in the fall semester

The application form will be available 4 weeks before the application deadline.

Only applications received by the deadline will be processed.

If you are awarded a grant, it must be used by the end of the semester for which you received funding. You cannot move the stay to the next semester.

  • Has your application been approved?

Please fill in and submit the agreement documents before you travel:

If your grant application is approved, you must first submit a Mobility Agreement (.docx) or employment contract. It must be signed by you and the host institution, and then sent to erasmus@oslomet.no. If you are visiting multiple institutions, one of the institutions must take responsibility for approving the entire stay and sign both the Mobility Agreement and Confirmation of Stay (see "During and after the stay").
When the Mobility Agreement is submitted, you will receive your Grant Agreement. This must be signed by you and returned to erasmus@oslomet.no.

When you sign your Grant Agreement, you commit to submitting certain documentation according to the requirements of the European Commission.

Information about the documentation you must submit can be found on this website, and you will also receive an email from erasmus@oslomet.no with more information about deadlines and what needs to be submitted. If you do not submit all the documentation on time, OsloMet will not receive funding from the European Commission, and you will therefore not receive your scholarship. You will then be responsible for financing your own stay.

Have there been any changes since you were granted the grant? If the number of days has changed, please send an email to erasmus@oslomet.no to find out how much money you will receive in the end.

    Travel and travel booking

The travel itself is booked and paid for in the usual way through Berg-Hansen in accordance with OsloMet's rules for business travel. We recommend that you prepare for your visit by checking that you have insurance coverage during your travels, register in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel register, and consider downloading the Norwegian Church Abroad emergency number app. Also, visit sikresiden.no for useful information when you are traveling abroad.
You will cover the expenses related to your stay yourself and submit a travel expense report as usual afterwards.

  • During and after the stay

You must submit a "Confirmation of stay" (.docx) and submit a travel settlement and "Erasmus+ Participant Survey" before the grant is transferred to your unit: Print out the "Confirmation of stay" and have it signed by the host organization before returning home.

Submit the signed "Confirmation of stay" to erasmus@oslomet.no. Submit the travel statement as usual through SAP: use the work order for your unit and indicate that it is for the Erasmus+ grant in the subject field. Remember to provide the amount for the flight ticket and hotel even if you select "Flight and hotel paid by employer" option.

If you have not made any other agreement with your immediate manager, submit the statement for the amount stated in the contract mentioned in the above paragraph. Read more about OsloMet's general guidelines for travel settlements.

You will receive an automatically generated link to the online report "Erasmus+ Participant Survey" that you must complete. The subject field in the email will say "Erasmus+ Participant Survey."

Once you have submitted the "Confirmation of stay", completed the travel settlement and "Erasmus+ Participant Survey", the Section for Career Services, Internationalisation and Student Services will transfer the grant to your unit. When you sign your "Grant Agreement", you commit to submitting certain documentation according to the requirements of the EU Commission.

Information about the documentation you must submit can be found on this website, and you will also receive an email from erasmus@oslomet.no with more information about deadlines and what needs to be submitted.

If you do not submit all the required documentation on time, OsloMet will not receive funds from the EU Commission, and you will therefore not receive the grant. You will then be responsible for financing your own visit.
