Board election at the Faculty of Social Science

In the spring of 2026, a member and a deputy member in temporary teaching and research positions (UF) will be elected to the Faculty Board. A member and a deputy member in temporary teaching and research positions (UF), including PhD Research Fellows, will be elected to the Faculty Board at SAM for the period August 1, 2026 until July 31, 2027. The nomination period of the candidates is March 18 – April 14, 2026. The election will be held on May 18 – 26, 2026. This spring, an election to the University Board <lenke> is being held as well. It is not possible to be a member of the University Board as well as the Faculty Board at the same time.

Eligibility for voting and election

 

It is only temporary employees in teaching and research positions (UF) that can vote in this election, since it is temporary UF-employees that shall be elected. To be eligible to vote, one must be employed in a position of at least 50 per cent of a full-time position at the institution, and have started at the position at least four weeks before the day of the election.

Those eligible to vote are eligible for election to the Faculty Board. Exceptions are some management positions, and employees with leave of absence to work outside the institution. For more information, see §§10 and 12 in the Election Regulations, or contact the faculty’s election secretary.

Electoral roll

All employees eligible to vote are listed in the electoral roll. These employees will receive an e-mail regarding the election, during week 14.

If you have not received the e-mail despite that you are eligible to vote, contact the faculty’s election secretary by April 04. If you have received the e-mail, but do not belong in the electoral roll, also contact the faculty’s election secretary by April 04.

Candidate nomination

To nominate candidates as member and deputy member in temporary UF-positions for the Faculty Board, use nomination form.

For a nomination to be valid, a candidate must be nominated by three different eligible voters. That is, all three proposers must submit their individual nomination forms. Remember that you also can nominate yourself. 

The deadline for nominating candidates is April 14, 2026. 

The work language at the Faculty Board is Norwegian.

The candidates you can vote for will be presented on this webpage ahead of the election period. 

How to vote 

After the election is open, you will be able to cast your vote.

Follow the election link and log in with FEIDE. Then, continue to the election at the Faculty of XXX, and cast your vote.

The election period is May 18 – 26, 2026.

Election results

The election results will be posted on May 31, 2026, at the latest.
