Thematic research initiatives – funding for small projects announced

OsloMet’s thematic research initiatives are announcing up to NOK 8 million for each of the four initiatives. The application deadline is 30 April.

Last year, the university board adopted four thematic research initiatives that will apply to the university for the next five years:

  • A resilient democracy
  • Future health and care services
  • Inclusion of more children and young people
  • Green transition

The thematic research initiatives are to be interdisciplinary and promote activity across the university. Among other things, the initiatives will fund small projects within each initiative’s theme.

Strengthening OsloMet’s research and knowledge development

“The initiatives will promote and strengthen OsloMet’s research and knowledge development in areas of great importance to society and to our disciplines. I hope our academic communities find the call inspiring and that we receive strong applications,” says Tanja Storsul, Pro-Rector for Research and Development at OsloMet.

This call is the first of what will likely be two major calls for small-project funding during the initiatives’ five-year period.

Allocations for this call will be made by the end of June, and projects are expected to start after the funding is awarded or no later than December this year.

“With this call and the breakfast meeting with a kick-off on 19 March, we mark the start of the thematic initiatives,” Storsul says.
