Survey on early-career researchers’ careers and working conditions

The Young Academy of Norway (AYF) and the Norwegian Association of Researchers (Forskerforbundet) are conducting a survey on what it is like to be an early-career researcher in Norway today.

The aim of the survey is to gain new insights that can strengthen both institutional work, policy development and advocacy efforts for early-career researchers.

For employees in academic positions under the age of 45

The survey takes 15–20 minutes to complete, and all responses are treated anonymously – neither individuals nor workplaces can be identified.

Head of Department of Computer Science and Professor of Scientific Computing, André Brodtkorb, is one of OsloMet’s four members in the Young Academy of Norway (akademietforyngreforskere.no - the text is in norwegian), which works to promote the interests of early-career researchers and contribute to increased recruitment of researchers.

“I hope many will take part in the survey. We want as broad a mapping as possible so that both we and the educational institutions can work purposefully to strengthen working conditions for early-career researchers, and thereby motivate more young people to choose a research career,” says André Brodtkorb.
