Plivo training for employees
All OsloMet employees must complete training in acute and life-threatening violence (PLIVO) by the end of January 2026.
The PLIVO training provides insight into how to handle a violent situation should one occur. In autumn 2023, OsloMet carried out a similar training.
It is the responsibility of managers with personnel responsibilities to ensure that the training is completed within their own units.
Although such incidents are fortunately considered unlikely, they can have serious consequences. Therefore, it is very important to regularly focus on this topic.
By participating in the training, new employees receive the necessary instruction and practice, while those who have previously participated benefit from valuable repetition.
“We know that mental training and awareness of possible courses of action in such situations can be crucial, which is why it is important that all employees complete the training,” says Rector Christen Krogh.
Joint implementation
The training consists of an individual review of three e-learning modules, as preparation for a joint session where the unit gathers to watch a film.
With the help of a checklist from sikresiden.no, the session facilitates group discussion and reflection, in addition to a review of the unit’s own office premises.
Any errors or deficiencies, as well as needs for measures identified during the review of the checklist and premises, should be reported by the units to Lead for Emergency Preparedness and Continuity at OsloMet, Kine Bylterud.
