MSCA-IF
Background
The MSCA-PF program provides a unique opportunity to recruit outstanding foreign researchers 0-8 years after completing their doctoral degree. By hosting these postdoctoral fellows, OsloMet establishes long-term collaborations with some of Europe's greatest research talents. The responsibility for R&D support for the application and operation of MSCA-PF is a collaboration between the central administration and support at the units in close cooperation with HR.
The process can be divided into three phases:
-
The proposal process
Phase 1 - Publication of Announcements and Recruitment of Candidates (mid-November - March)
Researchers interested in recruiting and supervising postdoctoral fellows should contact and follow the guidance from the R&D support at their unit. All nationalities are eligible. Please recognise following requirements:
Applicants:
- must have obtained a doctoral degree before the application deadline.
- must reside abroad and cannot have stayed in Norway for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
- cannot have more than 8 years of work experience after obtaining their doctoral degree. Note that it is possible to deduct legally regulated leaves and work that does not fall under the category of research.
- who wish to reapply must have received a score of at least 70% (threshold) at the previous application deadline.
Phase 2 - Masterclass and Meetings Between Candidates and Supervisors (April - May)
The Masterclass is a seminar for candidates and supervisors organised by the R&D support team in the central administration, where participants receive information about the application process. Applicants will receive specific advice based on experience from previous application rounds.
Phase 3 - Application Development (May - September)
After the Masterclass seminar, the application development starts and spans until the application deadline (usually mid-September). The applicant and the supervisor develop a mutually binding progress plan.
After Submission of the Application - (Year + 1) (February - September)
The results from the EU Commission are usually published in February of the following year. If the application is successful, the R&D support in the central administration will assist the unit's R&D and HR in the process of signing the agreement: Grant Agreement (GA). HR manages the recruitment process for the successful candidates and assists the candidate in organizing the move to Oslo. The R&D administration at the host faculty/center manages the project implementation in accordance with the obligations in the GA.
