Erasmus + Capacity Building Projects

Erasmus + Capacity Building Projects

You can apply for Erasmus+ funding for international projects where the main goal is to improve education in countries outside the Erasmus+ area.

What is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project?

An Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project is a project call you can apply under if you want to collaborate with international colleagues in both Erasmus+ and non-Erasmus+ countries. Erasmus+ countries are countries in the EU, EFTA, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey. Non-Erasmus+ countries are most other countries in the world, and these are divided into various EU-defined regions.

To apply for funding, you need to focus on developing and improving education in the non-Erasmus+ countries. This development can be linked to both academic content, educational systems, and administrative infrastructure.

There are three categories or strands of Capacity Building Projects. There are similarities and differences between the three. Additionally, there are also different priorities and criteria for some of the regions.

Within all three strands, the project need to:

  • Follow the criteria set for the region which the country/countries belong to.
  • Focus on equal opportunities for all (inclusion).
  • Build capacity in the non-Erasmus+ country through the sharing of best practice.
