Who can win the award?
The award will go to a student or a group of students who have submitted a professionally relevant master's thesis that stands out for being innovative contribution to the development of one or more professional fields.

What is the prize?
The master's thesis of the year is awarded with a diploma and NOK. 15,000 for individual award winners and NOK 10,000 per student for group assignments.

How does nomination take place?
The supervisor and/or examiner can nominate assignments submitted during the completed academic year. Nominations must be justified based on the evaluation criteria.

What are the evaluation criteria?
The thesis must have been graded A or B. The following criteria will form the basis for evaluation and selection:
The prize will be awarded to a master`s thesis that stands out as an innovative contribution to the development of one or more professional fields. The nomination must argue that the thesis meets at least one of these sub-criteria:
- The work demonstrates particularly insightful and innovative discussion of theoretical and/or methodological approaches.
- The work has generated significant new knowledge.
- The work is an example of insightful testing of new approaches to practice/methods of work.

The selection
The selection is made based on the nomination texts. A jury consisting of three members from OsloMet's education committee selects the prize winner(s).
