Attrition from studies at OsloMet – an analysis of four cohorts (PDF, 2021, in Norwegian)

A national survey that NOKUT sends out to everyone who have started their second year at a study programme at Norwegian universities or university colleges. It is sent out in October, and the results are published by NOKUT in their web portal Studiebarometeret.no at the start of February. We publish two self-produced compilation-reports in excel format – one for the lower-level programmes and one for master’s programmes.

This survey is sent out in April/May to all students at OsloMet that are attending their final year of a bachelor or master’s programme (including the 4-year primary school teacher education). The results are published on this page, usually at the end of June.

The survey contains several open-ended questions where the students, amongst other things, get the opportunity to elaborate on answers they have given to some of the closed-ended questions. The answers to these open-ended questions are communicated directly to the departments concerned and are not incorporated in the reports published here.

This survey maps out the graduates’ entry into working life and their retrospective satisfaction with their education. It is sent to everyone who have obtained an academic degree (bachelors or masters, as well as the 4-year primary school teacher education). The graduates receive the survey 1-4 years after they have completed their education. The survey is normally sent out in June. 

The candidate survey is conducted through a 3-year cycle: 1st year it goes to candidates from the largest professional educations at each faculty. 2nd year it goes to the other educations at the lower level. 3rd year it goes to all master’s programmes.

The first cycle was completed in the period of 2014-2016. The second cycle started in 2018 and is completed with the master’s programmes in 2020.

This survey maps out the prerequisites and framework conditions for students’ learning. The main purpose is to shed light on the psychosocial conditions and how these affect the study situation and everyday life.
