  • Nabila Habib

I, Nabila Habib. is standing for election as a representative of temporary employees. I have a master's degree in psychology from the University of Oslo, specializing in social psychology. I am a research assistant associated with OsloMet-Holmlia.

I chose to run for the faculty board as there was a lack of female candidates from temporary staff. As you know, representation is important, if not necessary, to be heard in matters that concern us.

As a representative, I am concerned with good onboarding routines for new employees. As a recent employee, I have known that it can be challenging to navigate and adapt to new systems. We are a diverse and international group with different needs and challenges. Should I have the opportunity to contribute to the faculty board, I will work for better information flow, good working conditions and ensure that the voices of all temporary employees are heard and valued.

  • Melike Isleyen

Melike Isleyen (oslomet.no), Doctoral research fellow in Visual Communication at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, OsloMet

I received a B.A. degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling from Boğaziçi University, Turkey; an MSc in Trauma and Disaster Applied Mental Health from Bilgi University, Turkey, and an M.A. degree in Ethnic and Migration Studies from Linköping University, Sweden. My research interests extend to the areas of migration, media, and visual culture as well as decolonial feminist and black feminist perspectives on care, vulnerability, resistance and re-existence.

I’m particularly interested in discussions and efforts towards rethinking academia and academic knowledge production to imagine different ways of connecting with ongoing social and structural issues for social change. As an international PhD, I’m thrilled by the opportunity to contribute to the work of the faculty board, and I’m more than happy to be involved in any activities and efforts to improve the quality of the academic and social life in OsloMet.

  • Cedrik Andersen Lyngroth

I, Cedrik Andersen Lyngroth (oslomet.no), want to stand as a representative on the faculty board to strengthen the voice of temporary teaching and research staff. I am a PhD candidate in the PhD programme in Social Sciences with specialisation in Social Work and Social Policy. Previously, I studied a master's degree in economics at the University of Bergen, as well as PPU at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. During my studies in Bergen, I was involved in student politics. I contributed to several boards, councils and committees, such as the Student Parliament,  The Research Committee and the Board of the University Museum. I would like to use this experience as a representative of temporary teaching and research staff on the faculty board.

The voice of the temporary teaching and research staff at the faculty is important, since faculty policy issues characterize everyday life. In this context, the terms of the PhD programme are central. Another important issue is PhD candidates' further career plans.

After a PhD period, it can be challenging to know the direction of your career.

Despite the fact that we temporary staff come and go, our group will always be represented at the faculty. I will do my utmost for current and future employees.

    Good election!

  • KIm Aila Sethre

My name is Kim Aila Sethre (oslomet.no) and I am a child welfare educator with further education in kindergarten pedagogy and a master's degree in child welfare. Academically, I am concerned with children's opportunities for participation. Since October 2023, I have been employed in a temporary position as an assistant professor in the Department of Social Studies.

As a member of the faculty board, I want to give a voice to the interests of temporary employees. This may, for example, be about predictability, transparent processes and the necessary support to succeed with projects and work tasks. I am concerned that a good working environment is not something you have, but that it is something that is created continuously in cooperation between employees and management, this I want to contribute to.
