Board election at the Faculty of Social Science

In the spring of 2024, a member and a deputy member in temporary teaching and research positions (UF) was elected to the Faculty Board of Social Science.

This page contains information on the Faculty Board election at the Faculty of Social Sciences. For information on the other elections at OsloMet this spring, please see Board elections at OsloMet. It is not possible to be a member of the University Board as well as the Faculty Board at the same time. 

Size and composition of the faculty boards 

The Faculty Board consists of 13 members:  

  • 3 employee-elected members in teaching and research positions 
  • 1 employee-elected temporary employee member in a teaching and research position 
  • 1 employee-elected member in a technical/administrative position 
  • 3 student-elected members 
  • 4 external board members 
  • The dean, who is the chair of the board  

Term of office for member in temporary teaching and research positions (including PhD-students) is from 1th of August 2024 to 31th of July 2025.

Eligibility for voting and election 

It is only temporary employees in teaching and research positions (UF) that can vote in this election, since it is temporary UF-employees that shall be elected. To be eligible to vote, one must be employed in a position of at least 50 per cent of a full-time position at the institution, and have taken up the position at least four weeks before the day of the election.

Those eligible to vote are eligible for election to the Faculty Board. Exceptions are some management positions, and employees with leave of absence to work outside the institution.

The Faculty Board’s meetings are held in Norwegian.
