The Research Council is Norwegian research’s central body for research policy issues, research collaboration and funding (e.g. for research programmes, independent projects and network related initiatives). The faculties / centers can help with applications for such funding.
HiOA is a partner in the regional initiative, Knowledge Oslo, which is a cooperation association between institutions for research and higher education in Oslo and the Oslo municipality. The association was founded in 2009 on the initiative of Oslo Municipality, the University of Oslo, Oslo and Akershus University College and Norwegian School of Management BI. It is established in collaboration with over 30 other education and research institutions.
The association will work to position Oslo as a national and international knowledge and decision-making centre within in certain areas.
Knowledge Oslo is initiated based on the belief that close, comprehensive and purposeful cooperation on research and higher education can realize a great potential for economic, social and cultural development in Oslo.
The municipality of Oslo and several health enterprises and hospitals announce collaborative funding. Funding is granted to develop project applications and to initiate projects. Participation is required from both the field of practice and the university college.
The purpose of the projects must be to create a better cooperation on practical studies within health and social studies. It also facilitated for joint research and development work.
