Green operations

Our goal is to increase the rate to 60 % recycled waste.

Help us reach our goal by sorting your waste in the correct bins. The coloured tops show what kind of waste goes in which bin:

• Blue - Plastic

• Green - Food waste

• Black - Other waste

• Light grey - Paper

• Metal coloured - Glass and metal

We reuse our furniture or give away what we no longer need. Some IT equipment is also reused, and the libraries arrange flea markets for used books.

Our recycling booth for both students and employees is located in room L041 under Pilestredet 44/52.

We have 3 service cars that are all fully electric. At campus Kjeller, you can find 6 electric vehicle charging stations as well.

Outdoor parking for bikes is available on both campuses. Nearby both campuses, you can also find city bike stands. Read more about parking locations and possibilities for bike maintenance.

Campus Kjeller and just about the entire campus Pilestredet is 100% heated by district heating. We are planning to improve the management of electric heating, and are currently replacing all lights with LED.

Six beehives are located the rooftop in P52. Tens of thousands of OsloMet bees are doing sustainable pollination work. Read more about the buzzing life.
