Role description for the AKAN resources

The AKAN resources should be resource persons and advisors on issues related to substance abuse, gaming and the handling of such issues, especially towards the managers at OsloMet. They will also be available to others who wish consultation on questions related to these topics.

The AKAN resources should be familiar with how the necessary conversation can be conducted to support the managers when this needs to be done. They should know the university's response forms in order to be able to advise the managers.

They will have an advisory and administrative role in the management of single cases. They should have competence on what an individual AKAN agreement should contain and how it should be followed up. In addition, they must have good knowledge about storing documents in the single cases.

The AKAN resources may be included as advisors in the team established in connection with the individual AKAN agreements. They will have a duty of confidentiality on an equal basis with the other members of the team.

There is a defined HSE coordinator at each faculty and in the central administration who holds the role of AKAN resource at his/her unit. The HSE coordinators are experts on issues relating to health, safety and the environment.
