IT account and password
Please administrate your account at tilgang.sikt.no/oslomet/.
Data security
Please acquaint yourself with the data security regulations (in Norwegian). Take a special note of how to manage, share and delete information.
Username and password
You will be given a user name and a temporary password as soon as you are employed.

You must change to a self made password of 16 characters within 20 days at tilgang.sikt.no/oslomet.

The user name and password are used to log on to all OsloMet's PC's, wireless networks and other services.

Your password must be changed every year. You will be sent an SMS and an email to remind you of this.

Two-factor authentications is mandatory for most of OsloMets systems.
Profile picture and privacy
Your profile picture wont be automatically visible at our web page and systems. You can change this and change your privacy settings in Min profil.
Forgotten password?
You can easily get a new password at tilgang.sikt.no/oslomet.

As a new employee at OsloMet, you must familiarize yourself with the current rules for data security and privacy.

At ansatt.oslomet.no/personvern-informasjonssikkerhet you will find role-based information about privacy and data security at OsloMet.
OsloMet collaborates with sikresiden.no on information and training in data security and privacy.
Familiarize yourself with the following:
Storage, encryption and secure transmission of information
To select the correct storage location, you must first classify the information to be stored.

Familiarize yourself with the routines for securely sending data, and learn how to encrypt.

Deviations
Security incidents and privacy deviations must be reported to sikkerhet@oslomet.no. Feel free to familiarize yourself with the routine for deviations.

E-mail and calendar
E-mail account
You get one e-mail account at OsloMet. Your immediate manager is responsible for signing you up for different mailing lists so that you receive information at the level of the organisation you belong to.
The immediate manager must contact IT support by email to notify of this.

E-mail address
You will be given one email address when employed. "username@oslomet.no" will be the default email address for every employee.

E-mail clients
Outlook is the standard client for email on all OsloMet's computers as part of the Microsoft Office package that all employees have on their PCs.
Mozilla Thunderbird is preinstalled on every computer and may also be used.
Webmail - e-mail on Internett
Your email account is also available in Office 365 or Canvas (LMS). Log in with your OsloMet username and password.

Wireless network (Wifi)
Wireless network - Eduroam
When at OsloMet, other educational institutions, and Norwegian airports you can connect to eduroam for free to access wireless internet on PC, tablet or smartphone.

Remote access
How you work when not present at OsloMet depends on your equipment and the solutions you wish to use. Remote desktop and VPN are the most common solutions for remote access.
VPN
When outside OsloMet networks (eduroam) you can still access files, servers and software through a VPN connection.
Use the preinstalled VPN client «eduVPN» for VPN setup on laptops. eduVPN can also be installed on your private computer.
Remote desktop
If you often work from home, you should use the service kontor.oslomet.no for access to Remote Desktop.
You can access all your files and folders, i.e. file server and full desktop environment as well as other software via remote desktop.

Hardware and software
An OsloMet laptop
Employees given an OsloMet laptop must have read the OsloMet routines for safe use of software and file storage (in Norwegian).
All employees are given an OsloMet laptop with Windows10 operating system.
Software on a OsloMet PC
All PC's are setup with preinstalled applications/software.
Additional software must be installed through Software Center.
Other available applications through Software Center via the Start menu:
- Chrome browser
- Endnote
- F4Transkript
- VLC
- Skype
- SPSS
- +++
If you cannot find the application or need help installing an application, please contact IT Service Desk by email.
Software on a private PC
OsloMet offers all employees Microsoft software for use on private devices through Office 365.

How to order hardware and software
Standard IT equipment must be ordered through the ordering system, Sentralen (oslometprod.service-now.com).
If you can not find the desired software or hardware, contact your manager, and then order order through Sentralen.
Special or additional hardware
If IT Service Desk does not offer the hardware or software you are in need of, you can order it through Sentralen after consulting your manager.
They must approve the hardware/software before ordering.
Free Feide software and services
You can access a variety of software and services through Feide login using your OsloMet username and password.
Login to Feide Innsyn to see what access you have - see under Services.

Mobile phone
Subscription
Employees with a phone subscription paid by OsloMet must make themselves familiar with the guidelines for using mobile phones paid by OsloMet.

Printing services
The printing solution on OsloMet PCs is called myPrint (queue name: Print-OsloMet on PC). The queue has a network of multifunction printers, and the printout can be retrieved in one of these.
The myPrint machines are fitted with a card reader that reads/authenticates the access card to students and staff. Once you have sent your printout to myPrint, you can print from an optional printer by tapping your card.
Anything you send to the myPrint queue will disappear after 24 hours.
