Board elections at OsloMet

Rector Christen Krogh encourages candidates to stand for election as employee representatives to the university board and faculty boards at OsloMet. The deadline to nominate yourself or colleagues is 19 April.

"I encourage all employees to consider standing for election as an employee representative, or to motivate good colleagues. A board position provides a unique opportunity to learn a lot both about our university and the sector, and not least to contribute directly to the further development of the business, says Krogh.

Current employee representative Inger Vederhus supports the call.

"It is much responsibility, fun and of course requires work to be in the university board", says Inger Vederhus, who is one of the employee representatives on the current University board at OsloMet.

"I hope many employees and students are interested in running for election as a representative for the board. When you sit on the University board, you get an overall view, you have to see what serves the whole university, get to take part in exciting discussions, and you help make decisions that will have significance far into the future", says Vederhus.

OsloMet needs to elect members in the different groups (constituencies). The different groups are:

  • a)    Academic staff with tenure
  • b)    Academic staff with temporary employment
  • c)    Administrative and technical staff
  • d)    Students
  • e)    In addition, external members are appointed (not elected)

The term of office for positions in a), c) and e) is four years and one year for positions in b) and for the students, starting first of August 2023.

Nomination until 19 April

Prior to elections is the nomination period from 20 March to 19 April 2023. In this time period you may nominate candidates to the positions. You can also nominate yourself.

You can nominate candidates for the University board, and for the Faculty board/SVA board at the faculty you are employed at/SVA.

You may nominate from and vote for employees in the same group as yourself; Academic staff with tenure, Academic staff with temporary employment or Administrative and technical staff.

There are different nomination forms for the university board and the faculty boards. Here you will find more information about the nomination, nomination form and the election.

Election period from 10 to 22 May

In the last week of April and the first week of May, there is a presentation of the nominated candidates. More information about this will come as it approaches.

The elections take place electronically. All eligible voters will receive an email with a link to vote in their constituency.

The election period is from 10 to 22 May. The elections of members to the University board and the Faculty boards take place in parallel. This means that you who have the right to vote can vote both at the faculty you belong to and at the University board election. If you do not work at the faculty/SVA, you can only vote at the University board election.

You can read more about the election on the pages for the University board election and the Faculty board/SVA election.
