Data collection
Systems, solutions and software to collect and process research data.
- Systems and software used to collect data vary depending on the research project.
- All employees must follow OsloMet's guidelines for using ICT services and equipment.
- Classify which safety level the collected and stored research data has.
- After having established the correct safety lever, decide on the right storage site for research data at OsloMet.
- Ordering licensed software (Stata, StatTransfer, Autocad, Adobe, GiS, SPSS, etc.) can be done through the ordering system for ICT equipment and software.
Find data and gain access
- The Norwegian centre for research data (NSD) has opened available data sets (sikt.no) for personal data, regional data, institutional data, data about the political system and portal for educational research.
- The Norwegian Institute for Public Health provides data for research and analysis (i Norwegian). Here you will find an overview of health records, health surveys and biobanks as well as practical information about the application process.
- Statistics Norway (SSB) has made an overview of data sets which also states who may order data, which authority may grant exemption from the duty of confidentiality and the legal basis for the duty of confidentiality.
- Statistics Norway grants microdata to research projects and has data relating to persons, businesses and enterprises.
Data collection via a third part's IT resources
TSD 2.0 (service for sensitive data) and Nettskjema are services for which HiOA has drawn up collaboration agreements with UiO. If you are using other institutions' systems, you must follow their guidelines.
See how to proceed to use TSD 2.0 for OsloMet projects.
-
Go to Nettskjema (uio.no). If you would like the survey to be anonymous, check website for action to ensure anonymity (uio.no, in Norwegian) and UiO's website about electronic track (in Norwegian).
