Fire alarm - what to do?
In the event of a fire alarm:
- Close – but do not lock – doors and windows when you leave the building
- Follow the instructions from the appointed staff at OsloMet and/or the fire services.
- Leave via smoke-free escape routes, do not use the lifts. Evacuate to the nearest safe place.
In the event of a fire:
- Notify everyone in your proximity. Use the nearest fire alarm call point. Call the fire service on 110!
- Rescue. Help those who need assistance to get to safety.
- Try to extinguish the fire if you can – use the closest fire hose or fire extinguisher.
- Evacuation Leave via smoke-free escape routes, do not use the lifts. Evacuate to the nearest safe place.

Fire safety training
As an employee of OsloMet, you have a duty to complete the compulsory fire safety training.
In the e-learning course "Fire protection training for staff at OsloMet 2020", you will become familiar with fire prevention and limitation and how to raise the alarm and evacuate.
