Leading research groups

The course is aimed at operational professional management of research and innovation. Leaders of OsloMet's research groups are the primary target group, but the academic content is also relevant for participants in OsloMet's Research Talent Program and Postdoctoral Programme.

The purpose is to strengthen the university's research environments through competence development and a community for sharing experience.

Organization and content

The program consists of three modules, as well as some preparatory home assignments.

  • Module 1: Innovation. How do we define innovation at OsloMet and which tools, processes and support system exist. The participants reflect on their own role in innovation and societal improvements.

  • Module 2: Shared ambitions and group interaction. The organization and development of research groups and how to lead them: Finding shared ambitions, goal setting, process management and utilizing individual differences.

  • Module 3: Publications and research communication. The research groups publication strategy and organizing for publication. How to strengthen one’s digital researcher profile. Research communication for societal impact.
